FAQs
Veritas College Prep FAQs
How is virtual AI-powered learning different from traditional classroom learning?
Most schools apply a one-size-fits-all approach, where traditional learning often adheres to a uniform curriculum design, treating all learners as if they begin from the same starting point. This approach can result in: a) inflexible progression, where learners are expected to move through material at a set pace, which may not align with their individual needs, leading to potential frustration or disengagement, b) the lack of individualization, meaning the system struggles to accommodate varying levels of prior knowledge, preventing tailored interventions that could enhance learning outcomes, c) scheduled evaluations, when assessments occur at predetermined intervals, lacking the ability to provide ongoing, real-time feedback that could better support learner development.
Do teachers need a technical background?
Not at all! Veritas’ platform is designed for educators of all backgrounds, with no technical experience required. Our courses can be led by former teachers who understand the unique needs of the classroom. Each module is approachable, practical, and directly applicable, giving teachers the skills and confidence to use AI effectively in their teaching. We’re here to support you every step of the way, so you can feel empowered to make AI work for you and your scholars.

What learning experiences are available for scholars?
Our scholar AI-driven lessons are interactive, grade-banded experiences, built directly into a chatbot. These lessons guide scholars to understand what AI is, how it works, how to evaluate its output, and how to use it responsibly and creatively in learning tasks.
What are the range of educational experiences that Veritas offers?
Synchronous multiplayer VR classrooms, Interactive 3D models and simulations, AI-driven teaching avatars for personalized learning, extensive subject-specific content, such as biology, chemistry and history/language arts.
How effective is immersive VR/AR learning?
Scholars in VR-based learning environments showed an average of a 76% increase in engagement compared to traditional methods. Immersive VR/AR learning is a moderately to strongly effective tool for improving K-12 learning outcomes when well designed and appropriately implemented. Benefits are clearest for knowledge gains, engagement and motivation - particularly with higher immersion and supportive instructional framing like Veritas provides. Recent meta-analyses (2022-2026) provide increasingly robust, specific evidence for K-12 contexts.
How are scholar lessons used in the classroom?
Scholar lessons can be assigned directly and used as whole-class learning experiences, or integrated into existing units and projects. Virtual or classroom teachers maintain full instructional control while scholars engage with AI in guided, age-appropriate ways.
Does the AI-driven curriculum stay up to date?
Yes, because AI evolves quickly, the AI platform regularly reviews and updates the AI EdTech content to reflect new developments, best practices, and emerging considerations—ensuring learning stays current and relevant.
Does AI-driven EdTech weaken critical thinking and does using AI-driven EdTech in class make scholars feel less connected to their virtual teachers?
At the core, education remains human. The mentorship, connection, and inspiration that great educators provide cannot be replicated. AI-driven education reinforces those strengths by supporting learning at scale.
Is Veritas Virtual Academy accredited and acceptable for college admission?
Virtual school accreditation for a new school like ours, takes 3 years. We meet the requirements for accreditation in advance of the minimum time to apply. However, colleges primarily care about clear records, course rigor, and evidence of readiness (transcripts, SAT/ACT, samples of work, and recommendations).
Is there any social/cultural bias in how the AI-driven platform supports and interacts with scholars and remote teachers?
No, there is no cultural/social bias.
What is an AI-Tutor?
Our AI-Tutor is a chatbot system that provides 24/7 personalized support with multi-lingual capabilities. It features adaptive learning that adjusts to each scholar’s reading and math levels, continuous mastery tracking to identify at-risk scholars early, and verifies skills inventories that employers value.
Is AI‑EdTech education skepticism warranted and does it rarely improve outcomes?
Our approach is different, Socratic learning is explicitly designed to replicate high‑effect instructional functions that decades of research already validate. The question isn’t whether AI works; it’s whether it’s built for pedagogy. Ours is.
Can you intentionally avoid the highest‑risk AI use cases, i.e., unguided chat, content shortcuts, or autonomous instruction?
We constrain the system to evidence‑backed roles and keep educators in the loop. That lowers adoption risk and aligns with how schools actually procure and deploy technology.
How does traditional learning used in most K-12 school environments compare with Socratic, AI-driven learning?
While large‑scale K–12 AI studies are still emerging, the underlying instructional mechanisms we use, tutoring, feedback and practice are among the most replicated findings in education research. Veritas is not waiting for AI to be proven; we’re applying AI to things already proven.
Does the system replace instructional decisions using learning with traditional teachers?
No, we follow virtual and classroom learning defined goals, standards and pacing that surfaces scholar scholar thinking rather than hiding it. Teachers remain the authority; AI does the assistive work.
How does Socratic learning benefit scholars compared to traditional education models?
Scholars are required to think, respond, explain, and revise. Our AI-Tutor does not bypass productive struggle—it scaffolds it. This is closer to high‑dosage tutoring than to answer‑giving.
Do AI tools actually improve outcomes?
Yes, the positive results consistently come from systems, such as ours, which are designed as tutors and feedback engines. Our Socratic AI based learning platform is built in that tradition, not as open‑ended chat.
Will scholars just use it as a shortcut?
The product design prevents that. Scholars must engage in structured practice and explanation; the system withholds full solutions and adapts based on demonstrated understanding.
Is AI-supported teaching and learning sound and proven in K-12 education?
No, the AI-wrapper is new; the instructional methods aren’t. We’re applying AI to some of the most replicated learning effects in education.
Do teachers trust the AI-learning model?
Yes, that’s exactly why it’s designed as teacher augmentation, not automation. Adoption is strongest when teachers gain visibility and leverage—not when control is taken away.
What is the class size for remote virtual teachers?
Up to 100 scholars for virtual classrooms and up to 30 scholars for VR/AR based academic and CTVE classes.
Which VR headset hardware is supported?
Pico 3 and 4, Lenovo ThinkReality VRX, PCs, and web browsers. This flexibility ensures that it can be seamlessly integrated into both in-classroom and remote learning environments.
What VR tools are available for educators?
Veritas offers a suite of tools designed to support educators, including an AI Creator Tool, that can build your own AI-driven teaching avatars with built in assessment and muilti-lingual scholar support, in-headset classroom management features for real-time monitoring, metrics of scholar progress for our built-in simulations (available when classes are set up within Nexus), gamification tools to enhance scholar engagement, lesson planner for organizing and customizing lessons - coming SOON.

Can I use my existing curriculum and modify it to use with Veritas’ AI-Tutor and VR?
Our educational product is malleable enough to be used by various ages and is especially great for those whose academic and biological ages do not always match. We also feel that, as educators, you know your scholars best. You know the state, school, college, district requirements better than we would, so we leave curricula selection up to you. For this reason, we support you on your journey to incorporate VR and the AI-Tutor, but do not restrict you on how you want to do that by forcing you to follow one curriculum. We do offer a curricular guideline that can be used to validate the incorporation of VR into your curricular choices and syllabi. Homeschooling families are welcome to use this guide to meet state requirements for justification of purchases for ESA and educational reimbursements for those states that offer tax-payer funding for educational products and services.
